Where is it and why should you want to go there? 'The coastal resort of Skala Eressos is located on the Southwestern tip of the island of Lesvos. It is 96km from the island capital of Mytilini and 26km from the tiny fishing village of Sigri and the Petrified Forest of Lesvos. Skala Eressos is not only one of the most beautiful and relaxed resorts on the island of Lesvos, but also has a history of welcoming women travelers. For over 50 years women from all over the world have traveled to the birth place of Sappho to enjoy a laid back and friendly atmosphere amongst the locals and other tourists making this one of the most popular holiday destinations for women in Europe.

Many bars and restaurants here are owned and run by women from all over the world and there is a vibrant year round community. The resort boasts not one but two women only hotels and a whole host of activities throughout the year.
