COTE D'AZUR - THE FRENCH RIVIERA

In 19th-century European high society, people would often talk of a magical land where winter never came - that land of unending sunshine and azur waters. The coastline boasts some of the most scenic and dramatic seascapes and is blessed with little known seaside hamlets nestling between the more famous Nice and Cannes. A few miles inland from the shore is a less publicized side of the Riviera, a world of romantic hill towns and perched villages balanced on craggy peaks. Worn-down stone stairs and cobbled byways lead through modest hamlets crowding around ancient châteaux. Here, in the heart of Provence you will find the little known village of Les Adrets de l'Esterel and just over 2km's away, the superb Hotel des deux amis.

HOTEL DES DEUX AMIS

Gay owned and operated, the hotel lies 30 minutes by car from Nice airport and 15 minutes from the beach.  Beautifully decorated with excellent accommodation, a 17 metre swimming pool with a large sun terrace offering breathtaking views of Cannes and the Mediterranean. The hotel has 7 large double rooms, each their own private bathroom and communal terrace or balcony with sea view. Some rooms have private terraces. There is a non-smoking policy in all hotel rooms and also in the dining room.

The swimming pool measures 15 x 7 meters, and is kept at a comfortable temperature throughout the season. The pool area is clothing optional. Here you can use the self service bar for refreshments at reasonable prices. For those feeling a little energetic there is a short tennis court and of course the area is suited to walking.  There is a local restaurant only 3 minutes away on foot which is open every day except Sundays during the season. There are also other restaurants nearby. The hotel offers free parking to guests and is straight friendly.

We strongly recommend car hire for this break. There is so much to explore in the region and the area is so beautiful that you can happily find yourselves discovering stunning countryside, and quiet villages at every turn.  Wonderful beaches are just 15 minutes away and a visit to the old town of Nice and dinner by the harbour is a must. Lac Saint Cassien, a local lake is situated close by and is a popular area for fishing. It is easy to rent a canoe or pedal boat.

Double and Triple rooms are available from March - October. Breakfast is available on a daily basis at a locally payable charge and for a small additional charge you can order it it bed ! Dogs are welcome at a small additional cost and by prior arrangement.  We can arrange your room as accommodation only or include flights and car hire.
